today confront ever-growing amounts of data to manage
under shorter deadlines. Many respond by expanding
their own IT infrastructure. It’s expensive,
time consuming and can result in data bottlenecks.
A supercomputer can make a huge difference, but as
a general practice, supercomputers are not available
to the private sector. Cerelink has the answer.
Introducing Encanto, New Mexico’s supercomputer.
It’s trillions of calculations per second fast,
making Encanto the world’s fastest supercomputers
available for commercial use. Data crunching that
would normally take hours or days can be done in minutes.
- 172 teraflops (peak theoretical speed) Altix ICE
8200 cluster (133 teraflops sustained operation)
- Consists of 1,792 nodes (14,336 cores) of quad
Xeon 3.0 GHz processors housed in 28 racks
- Encanto is not only super-fast… it’s
available to Cerelink clients.
Cerelink is a charter member of the New Mexico Computing
Applications Center Board of Directors, Sandia National
Labs, Los Alamos National Laboratory, University of
New Mexico, New Mexico State University and New Mexico
Technology and Mining Institute. Cerelink is the only
commercial business member of the Board and has access
to priority cycle time on Encanto.
